چکیده

Background: Demyelinating events expressed as abnormal thermoregulatory responses are rare, but intractable fever in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is very rarely reported.Case Report: A 56-year-old woman presented with quadriparesis acroparesthesia. During the admission, developed and persisted for 2 days despite administration of high-dose antipyretics. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed hyperintense lesions involving upper brainstem. diagnosis MOGAD was made according to clinical characteristics presence seropositive MOG antibody. After oral bromocriptine (2.5 mg/day), slowly controlled a few days. Conclusion: The present case explained that persistent could manifest an uncommon manifestation. lesion brainstem within brain MRI be thought anterior periaqueductal gray at site cause patient's unknown origin.

Intractable Hiccup in Demyelinating Disease with Anti-Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) Antibody

The patient was a 29-year-old man who presented with intractable hiccup at the onset of demyelinating disease. This was followed, in quick succession, by blurred vision, gait disturbance with myoclonic spasms and paresthesia in both legs, and the inability to urinate. Brain and spinal MRI revealed lesions in the parasagittal cingulate gyri, pulvinar, cerebral peduncles, superior colliculi, midd...

Myelin-Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibodies Spectrum Disorders

Myelin-Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is an adhesive molecule responsible for myelin sheath structural integrity and maintenance. Patients with spectrum of inflammatory demyelinating disease particularly in central nervous system are reported to have antibodies against this protein. Diseases such as multiple sclerosis, clinically isolated syndrome, neuro-myelitis optica (NMO) spectrum disor...

Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody Persistency in a Steroid-Dependent ADEM Case.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is a candidate target antigen in demyelinating central nervous system diseases, including acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), neuromyelitis optica, and multiple sclerosis. It may give prognostic information regarding monophasic or recurrent course of the disease. MOG antibodies have been shown to be positive in high titers during the first epis...

Nogo-A and myelin-associated glycoprotein differently regulate oligodendrocyte maturation and myelin formation.

Nogo-A is one of the most potent oligodendrocyte-derived inhibitors for axonal regrowth in the injured adult CNS. However, the physiological function of Nogo-A in development and in healthy oligodendrocytes is still unknown. In the present study, we investigated the role of Nogo-A for myelin formation in the developing optic nerve. By quantitative real-time PCR, we found that the expression of ...
